Format your resume effectively--do the hiring managers work for them!
No matter how well-written your resume is—it won't get fully read the first time around. Most of the time resumes are scanned for 10-30 seconds. Scanning your resume may become more difficult if it's hard to read, poorly organized or exceeds two pages. To overcome this, use a logical format, wide margins, and clear styles and headings. Selectively apply bold/italic font styles to help guide the reader's eyes. Lastly, graphics and bullet points can highlight the important points in your resume that need emphasis (e.g. skills and professional experience)
