Letters by Experience

When starting your cover letter writing, showcasing your relevant skills and experience are the most important parts to work on. This provides detailed information about your employment history. This is the real heart of your cover letter sample, and the more years you are an employer, the more decisions you have to make about what to include and to leave off in this section.

List companies you worked for, dates of employment, the positions you held, and your responsibilities and achievements. Even internships or temporary jobs, as long as they’re relevant, can be included. Entry-level candidates should include as many experiences as possible while emphasizing the skills that match the job listing.

For your responsibilities and tasks, avoid the mistake of simply listing them all.  You want to use this section to showcase your abilities and accomplishments. Use keywords and focus on highlighting how you helped the company solves its problems and achieve its goals through personal stories or testimonials.

It’s all about how you present the information. It’s also OK to leave out jobs that don’t fit the story you’re trying to tell the hiring manager.
